One thing I would love to see this group accomplish is a form of mentorship for students! For instance, in the ortho section of the APTA, there is a formal mentorship opportunity where they can pair 3rd year students with a clinician that specializes in ortho to help guide them on their journey their last year of school and in to the hiring process of finding their first job. I think a similar structure in mentorship would be beneficial for students in the LGBTQIA+ community. There are concerns with students in "coming out" to their employers, CIs on clinical rotations, and to their patients. There is a lot to navigate and things that a former mentor could help provide and supply them as they navigate out of school and in to the clinical setting.

Thank you for the idea! Sorry for the delay in responding - we just shifted over some resource allocation for certain things with PT Proud and I'm catching up on the website side of things. We'll definitely add this to our discussions as we move forward. Please look for our general membership meeting at CSM 2020!
